Tell Echo: What can KEPW do for you?

Artists of all genres are encouraged to participate in the 'Drop The Mic' celebration of creativity and community. Build connections and support the flourishing of KEPW 97.3 FM, a listener-supported station amplifying underrepresented perspectives.

Presenter: The KEPW volunteer coordinator wants to know: What can KEPW do for you? Echo has been networking with local groups and businesses.

Echo (KEPW, volunteer coordinator): All this outreach has kind of snowballed into a project that is called Project Reevolution and Project Reevolution is an outreach unity program. And the goal is to connect with more community members and create kind of, like, you know: What can KEPW do for you?

[00:00:30] What story can we platform for you? And if we make great art, it’s going to make a great community. It’s going to make great material. It’s going to lead to funds, which we can reinvest. It’s going to lead to a family-type atmosphere. It will have its own investments in other ways.

[00:00:48] Presenter: Echo’s program Underground Echo will feature Friday specials throughout February, including an open mike on Feb. 28:

[00:00:56] Echo: We’re doing a ‘Drop the Mic’ at the end of February. It’s going to release on Friday the 28th, and we’ve already had nine people submit work to be on the open mic.

[00:01:07] Presenter: Artists of all genres are encouraged to participate in this celebration of creativity and community. Build connections and support the flourishing of KEPW 97.3 FM, a listener-supported station amplifying underrepresented perspectives. To submit your entry, email Echo@KEPW.org, or 541-303-9543. Submissions are open until Feb. 9, 2025. The event will be pre-recorded in mid-February and broadcast as an exclusive radio open mic show on Feb. 28.

[00:01:40] Echo: On Feb. 14, we’re going to do a Valentine’s Day special. That’s Friday, Feb. 14. I don’t know what time it’ll air yet, but I do know that we’re going to cover two hours and we’re going to do one side of it’s going to be going to start with couples in a positive way, singles in a positive way, and then we’re going to go to anti-Valentine’s and do a singles anti-Valentine’s Day ones. And then do a couples when they’re struggling.
