Greetings and Happy Indigenous Peoples Day! We’ve enjoyed seeing all your faces at our events this year. Here are the events for the rest of the week:

Monday, Oct. 14: Indigenous People’s Day Celebration

3:30 p.m. (at the Art House in Eugene) Join Sarah Betcher and Ryan Souza (Breath of Aloha) for a powerful workshop on the deeper meaning of aloha and its transformational power to heal, give love, and show compassion.

5 p.m. Indigenous film session followed by Q&A from Sarah Betcher, Ryan Souza, and Princess Mason.

Tuesday, Oct. 15: Friends of Family Farmers

6:15 p.m. Film session with Q&A by filmmaker Jaxon Derow of Vanishing Oasis and Against the Herd.

Following our Farm & Food film session, join Friends of Family Farmers to discuss sustainable farming and the policy priorities that support small-scale producers.

Wednesday, Oct. 16: Wildlife conservation with Cascadia Wildlands

6:15 p.m. Film session with Q&A by filmmaker Justin Harris of Freeland: A Whitegrass Story. Following the session, Cascadia Wildlands Director Bethany Cotton will be speaking to wildlife conservation and Cascadia Wildland’s efforts.

Thursday, Oct. 17: Climate change panel & workshop, supported by Beyond Toxics

6:15 p.m. Film session with Q&A by filmmakers Blake Pfeil of All-American Ruins and Lauren Iverson of Electrifying Eugene.

Following the film session, join filmmaker Lauren Iverson and local experts for a powerful discussion on climate action and solutions to the challenges we face.

Friday, Oct. 18: Prescribed burning panel & FUSEE’s 20th anniversary

6:15 p.m. Film session with Q&A by Sacha Dench of Flight of the Swans and Michael Sherman of Burning to Heal. Following the film session, join filmmaker Michael Sherman for a panel on prescribed burning with Aaron Krikava from Rogue Valley PBA and Chris Adlam from the OSU Extension Fire Program.

7 p.m. to midnight. FUSEE’s 20th anniversary party and fundraiser. Celebrate and support Firefighters United for Safety, Ethics, and Ecology with a party and fundraiser to help promote ethical wildfire management practices.

Saturday, Oct. 19: Sustainability Workshop by Edelic

1 p.m. Film session with Q&A from filmmaker Julia de Guzman of Born Curious.

3 p.m. Film session with Q&A from filmmaker Rose Vincelli Gustine of What We Discover Along the Way.

5 p.m. Talk from Edelic Director Rachel Anderson on sustainability. Learn about sustainability, physically and spiritually, to create change and make a greater impact.

6:30 p.m. Film session.

Sunday, Oct. 20: (TEK) Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK)

11 a.m. (at Many Nations Longhouse). Oral presentation by Stephanie Craig on Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK).Stephanie is a seventh-generation basket weaver, I(TEK) practitioner, anthropologist, cultural museum consultant, and has a Master of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology

Noon to 3 p.m. (at Museum of Natural & Cultural History). Traditional ecological knowledge with a hands-on acorn cooking demonstration, and learn how this ancient practice connects us to the land and history.

4 p.m. Film session with Q&A by filmmakers Andrew Bogrand and Andrew Mooran of Hold the Line and Rhett Cutrell of Figures.

6:45 p.m. Film session with Q&A from filmmakers Elizabeth Dunne and Dan Herz of Last Stand: Saving the Elwha River.
