People for Peace and Justice in Palestine invites you to a Sunday afternoon screening of the film ‘Put Your Soul On Your Hand and Walk‘ Jan. 25, 4 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 1050 E. 23rd Ave., Eugene.
Selected for the Cannes Film Festival, the movie connects you to life inside Gaza under siege through a series of video calls with filmmaker and photojournalist Fatima Hassouna.
Hassouna and 10 relatives, including her pregnant sister, were killed April 16, 2025 in a targeted bombing attack on their home in Gaza City.
Hassouna is one of 289 journalists killed in Gaza—18% of all journalists in the Strip—through December, 2025. Over 500 journalists were wounded and Israel has arrested more than 200, where most are subjected to extreme torture in prison.
Just under two hours in length, this film may be difficult for some viewers.
Free admission. Donations accepted. Refreshments and discussion following the screening.
