EUGENE, Ore.—(May 2, 2022)— Lane Transit District (LTD) has released two short videos in its “Budget 101” video series to encourage broader citizen participation.

The videos explain how LTD budgets are created, where the money comes from, and what can cause budgets to change.

“LTD wants to make its budget more understandable for members of the community,” said Christina Shew, LTD’s Director of Finance.

Each video is about four minutes in length. The first video covers the budget process. The second video explains the Fiscal Year 2023 Proposed Budget.

“In less than 10 minutes people can gain a better understanding of the LTD budget and the budget process,” Shew said.

She encouraged community members to provide comment on the budget before its expected adoption on May 18, 2022, either by email to clerk@LTD.org or by providing public comment at a Board of Directors meeting. Meeting information is available at www.LTD.org.

Both videos were produced by LTD’s Marketing and Communications Department in partnership with local marketing firm Bell + Funk and visual storytellers Attic Media.

Information about LTD’s budget and financial documents are available online at LTD.org/financials.
