Free buses to Lane County Stand Down Sept. 30

Free bus rides to any passenger who tells the bus operator they are attending the Lane County Stand Down at the Lane County Fairgrounds this Friday, Sept. 30.

EUGENE, Ore. —(Sept. 27, 2022)— Any passenger, system-wide, who boards an LTD bus and tells the bus operator that they are attending the Lane County Stand Down at the Lane County Fairgrounds will be eligible to ride for free on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lane County Stand Down is an annual event for veterans and their families that connects them to organizations that set up temporary shop at the fairgrounds for the day that can provide medical services, personal care services and items, meals and food, veteran’s benefits, clothes, housing information, and other services.

Military veterans aged 65 and over are always eligible to ride LTD buses for free with an Honored Rider’s Pass. Anyone aged 65 years and older can enroll in the Honored Rider Pass program at the Customer Service Center in the Eugene Station.

With proof of age (photo ID), a customer service representative will offer the Honored Rider a tap card or a benefit code for the Umo Mobility smartphone app.
