EPD seeking witnesses in assault on LTD bus

Eugene Police Department asks witnesses to an assault on the LTD bus to come forward.

At 9:06 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, a man hit another male on an LTD bus at Dads’ Gates Station, the EmX stop on 11th, east of Kincaid.

The male suspect left. Eugene Police Department and University of Oregon Police Department responded to the scene. Eugene Springfield Fire also responded to treat the unconscious male victim. The suspect was stopped and detained.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and subsequently died. Eugene Police Department is waiting to release his identity until after his family is notified.

The suspect, Derek Jules Dinnell, 30, is lodged at Lane County Jail and charged with second-degree murder.
