[24:27] The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of suspects accused of rioting at that Federal Building in Eugene on Jan. 30.
According to a post by the FBI Portland Field Office Friday, 400 to 500 people attended an anti-ICE protest at that Federal Building, which, according to police, turned into a riot. Several people reportedly broke windows, spray-painted federal property, and threw rocks at law enforcement.
The FBI shared a video from inside the building as well as pictures of an unknown suspect who they say was seen in the area.
It is also of note, as I have reported before, there were four other local news outlets that reported the federal agents breaking a window in the Federal Building on this day that led to the deployment of tear gas and pepper balls fired at protesters.
And all of that from KPTV Fox 12 in Portland.
Now, during the ICE protest outside the Federal Building in Eugene on Jan. 30, two individuals were arrested and charged with secondary theft, which one defendant says was an effort to keep people safe.
Timothy Lewis, age 69, and Benjamin Butler, age 35, were arrested by Eugene police at 9.30 Friday evening after an observer observed the two unloading city of Eugene Public Works street barricades from a truck near Oak Street and 6th Alley.
Lewis says he was responding to a friend’s call about pedestrians nearly being struck by vehicles on 6th and 7th Avenues as protesters fled tear gas that had been deployed outside the Federal Building.
The friend reported drivers were swerving and pedestrians were stumbling into the traffic as tear gas obscured visibility… Both Lewis and Butler are scheduled for a March 3 pretrial hearing. All of this from Mirandah Davis-Powell of the Eugene Weekly locally here.
