Local voters enthusiastically support funding for streets and parks, Southeast Eugene residents in House District 12 will likely be represented by a Republican, and Ryan Ceniga leads Dawn Lesley for the West Lane County Commission seat, 55% to 45%.

Lane County Elections released its first general election results Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. The next election results will be released at 5 p.m. Wednesday, 5 p.m. Thursday, and 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The Tuesday night returns showed Republicans holding the West Lane county commission seat after incumbent Jay Bozievich did not run for re-election. Ryan Ceniga led after the 11 p.m. Nov. 8 results by 17,520 votes to 14,245.

If Ceniga’s lead stands, Republicans will again have a 3-2 majority on the (officially nonpartisan) county commission, after Democrat Joe Berney was defeated by David Loveall in the May primary.

River Road residents are within the new West Lane commissioner district, but were not allowed to vote for their next commissioner when officials missed a deadline to submit new voting district maps.

House District 12 represents a new rural district that includes part of Southeast Eugene and Santa Clara. The district was previously represented by Democrat Marty Wilde, whose district was redrawn after he criticized Democratic Party leadership. Republican Charlie Conrad leads Democrat Michelle Emmons in the early returns by 58% to 42%.

After facing multiple campaign complaints, Marty Wilde was also trailing Beatrice Grace for a seat on the Lane County Circuit Court, 61% to 38%.

Val Hoyle held a 51% to 43% edge over Alek Skarlatos to succeed outgoing U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio in the 4th Congressional District.

Several state and national races remain close. For governor, Democrat Tina Kotek leads Republican Christina Drazan by just over one percent, according to 8:45 a.m. results from the Secretary of State.

Measure 111, declaring healthcare a constitutional right, was trailing in the early returns by less than one percent, 50.46% to 49.54%. Gun safety Measure 114 was leading by a smaller margin, 50.37% to 49.63%.
