EUGENE, Ore. —(June 27, 2022) — Oregon Country Fair (OCF) ticketed fairgoers can cut down on traffic congestion and carbon emissions by riding aboard a Lane Transit District (LTD) bus to and from the OCF “fare free” during its three-day run near Veneta on July 8, 9, and 10.

The OCF has purchased service for ticketed fairgoers traveling from LTD’s Valley River Center Park & Ride, and its Downtown Eugene Station, to the fair site just west of Veneta on Highway 126. OCF service begins at 10 a.m., with the last bus departing at 5:30 p.m. from Eugene to the event.

On Friday, July 8, OCF service will operate every 30 minutes from the Valley River Center Park & Ride and Downtown Eugene Station, and then every 15 minutes on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10. Fairgoers can board the bus for free at any LTD stop to get to the shuttle sites and then can take a free ride back to a bus stop of their choice. Bike riders taking the bus to the OCF can park their bikes in the racks at Valley River Center. No bikes are allowed on the buses to the event during the weekend.

To board the bus, OCF staff will be on hand to verify that passengers have a ticket and proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Fairgoers without a ticket or proof of COVID-19 vaccinations will not be allowed on the buses per OCF event guidelines.

Encompassing the Eugene-Springfield metro area, LTD is a special district of the State of Oregon and led by a seven-member board of directors appointed by Oregon’s governor. LTD also operates RideSource, a paratransit service for people with disabilities, and numerous transportation options programs to promote sustainable travel county-wide.
