Travis Worthington hired as local fire marshal

Eugene Springfield Fire announced the hiring of Fire Marshal Travis Worthington.

Eugene Springfield Fire is pleased to announce the hiring of Fire Marshal Travis Worthington.

Worthington is a 28-year decorated career veteran of fire and emergency services and has served with state and local agencies in Georgia, Virginia, and Washington.

He rose through the ranks as a firefighter/paramedic to the positions of fire chief, emergency management director, and fire marshal.

Worthington holds a bachelor’s degree in fire science (summa cum laude) with a focus in code enforcement and a master’s degree in business administration (magna cum laude) with a focus in leadership.

He has also acquired a multitude of credentials and professional designations during his years of service.

“We are excited to have Travis and his depth of experience joining our team,” said Fire Chief Mike Caven. “We’ve made significant investments in expanding the services of the Fire Marshal’s Office to enhance our community safety and build a plan for the future. Travis’ leadership will continue and further that mission.”

The Fire Marshal’s Office, commonly referred to as the Fire Prevention Division of Eugene Springfield Fire, provides comprehensive fire and life safety education, code enforcement, fire investigation and coordinated property development information.
