The 2024 U.S. Olympic track and field trials will be held at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon from June 21-30.
This marks the fifth consecutive time the event has been at the UO since 2008 and the eighth time overall. The event will serve as the Team USA selection event for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
“We are thrilled once again to be the home of the U.S. Olympic trials. The University of Oregon’s legacy of innovation and high performance in the world of sports has helped define our university and our state,” said University of Oregon President Karl Scholz. “We call it ‘Hayward Magic.’ It not only inspires breathtaking performances of current and future Olympians, it also fosters meaningful partnerships in research and teaching and energizes fans, alumni and friends the world over.”
Over the past five decades, Hayward Field has been the centerpiece in the city of Eugene’s efforts to establish itself as the epicenter for track and field in the United States. The UO campus has been home to many large-scale events, including the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 and the USATF Outdoor Championships.
The 2024 trials are slated to start Friday, June 21, after university commencement ceremonies, which are scheduled for Monday, June 17. To ensure operational continuity, the UO will engage in an internal planning process and will work closely with TrackTown USA, which serves as the local organizing committee.
Additional information, including timing of ticket sales, will be announced as the event approaches.
